Energy Saving

A review of government data published in August 2024 has found the average new build home in England to be significantly more energy efficient than older properties – it found that 85% of new builds have an EPC Rating of B or above versus just 4% of older properties achieving the same grade.

New build houses save on average £2,200 per property each year.  This figure increases to an average of  £2,579 for homes built under part L regulations.  Meaning energy bills are on average 58% cheaper compared to those of an older home.

New build home buyers are saving over £400 million a year in energy bills, as well as collectively reducing carbon emissions by 500,000 tonnes.

This is thanks to our many years of experience building quality energy efficient homes to traditionally high standards including the latest heating systems, excellent double-glazed windows and doors, and wall and loft insulation.

Why people choose new

Total Confidence

On average, buyers of second-hand homes can pay up to £4,500 fixing defects that haven’t been detailed in the survey. Your new Jones Home will come with a 10-year warranty and insurance cover from NHBC Buildmark. This will give you a Jones Homes two years’ builder warranty and then a further 8 years’ insurance provided by NHBC against damage caused by any failure to meet NHBC Strict Technical Requirements. You probably won’t need it, but it’s great to know that you’re covered just in case.

Buying a new Jones Home also means you don’t have to worry about structural survey costs and all your electrical items such as boilers and appliances are supplied from trusted brands. An electrical intruder alarm is also included as standard.

Superior Specification

HBF research suggests that for an average 3 bedroom, semi-detached home the cost of upgrading a second-hand property to the basic level
of specifications an owner would be able to expect from a new build can be over £50,000. At Jones Homes we aim to go one step further. Your new Jones Home will contain many items included as standard that other home builders may add on as costly extra’s. We have thought of everything so you don’t have to. For full details of our specification please download the development brochure and speak with the sales advisor. Our superior specification is certainly worth a closer look.
