Jones Homes celebrates its roots on Cheshire Day

The county of Cheshire will always have a special place in the heart of everyone at Jones Homes.

Jones Homes is proud to celebrate Cheshire Day.

Wednesday 30 March marks the anniversary of the county being granted a charter of liberties by King Edward I in 1300 – it’s very own Magna Carta.

Fast forward 700 years and the day is an opportunity to recognise everything that makes Cheshire such a great place in which to live, work and play.

The county will always have a special place in the heart of everyone at Jones Homes.

It was here, in Alderley Edge, where Peter Emerson Jones founded the company back in 1959. A joiner by trade, he worked for his father’s business before starting his own company building homes on small plots of land in the county.

The business slowly expanded and today it is part of the Emerson Group, one of the largest privately owned property development companies in the UK.

Although Jones Homes has grown well beyond its Cheshire heartland, with divisions in Lancashire, Yorkshire and the South East of England as well as operations as far afield as Portugal and Florida, the company has remained loyal to its roots.

To this day, the company’s head office remains in Alderley Edge, where its North West division is also based.
