Can I Still Move Home During Lockdown?
At 8pm on Monday 4th January 2021, Boris Johnson announced a new “stay at home” order for all of England. This was a change to the previous regionally tiered restrictions that were in place.
As with previous restrictions, the construction industry and the buying and selling of homes are permitted to continue, providing social distancing guidelines and safety interventions are in place and adhered to. Official Lockdown Guidance published on www.gov.uk states the following:
Moving home
- You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary.
- Property selling and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work.
- If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings.
- Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face covering.
As such all Jones Homes sales centres will remain open. We continue to operate on a pre-booked appointment basis only, following best practice guidelines to ensure safety for all. Our Sales Advisors also continue to remain available to address enquires by telephone and email. If you wish to book a visit to our show homes you are still very welcome to do so, but please bring a suitable face-covering to your appointment and please follow the Covid safety guidance upon arrival.
