Luxury Homes and green spaces attracting buyers to Burgess Hill
Homebuyers are being attracted to a new housing development in Burgess Hill by its luxury properties and abundance of green open space. Jones Homes has built a mix of spacious three, four and five-bedroom detached houses surrounded by trees and grassland at its Folders Grove site on the edge of the town. The development’s picturesque setting has proved a major draw for house-hunters, particularly buyers moving in search of a more peaceful way of life. Among those enjoying their attractive new surroundings at Folders Grove are Sue and Allan Paine. The couple purchased a four-bedroom detached house at the development after moving from Hove to be closer to their grandchildren.
Sue said: “The development is situated in a quiet rural area and we can enjoy views of the scenery from our bedroom window. We thoroughly enjoy walking around the site as it is very scenic and surrounded by greenery and there are a few ponds that you see on the walk. The grandchildren also love going round Folders Grove on their scooters.” Suzan Gold, 68, and her husband Allan, 75, along with their three dogs, also relocated from Hove to make a fresh start at Folders Grove, moving into a five-bedroom detached house at the development. Former interior designer Suzan, who creates professional drawings of dogs and people, said: “In my old home, I used to create my art in the kitchen. Now I am turning one of my rooms in my new house into an art studio. The rooms are very bright so are ideal for me to set up my studio in.
“The outlook from inside is beautiful. It was designed with light woodwork, making it feel so open. Compared to this, my old home felt so dreary and dark. The views from the house are stunning. There are fields, a vinery and we can also see lakes in the far distance. We take our dogs to explore parks to see all these views. Ditchling Common is one of our favourite places to go and it is only a short drive from the house.” For Jackie and Guy Gorringe, who took early retirement, it was love at first sight when they visited the show home at Folders Grove in November 2020. Now, three years later, they enjoy kicking back with a glass of wine and enjoying the development’s scenic views.
Jackie said: “At the back of Folders Grove is the Ridgeview Vineyard where they not only make world-class English sparkling wine but also have a place where you can sit and have a meal. It’s so lovely to be able to walk round there and take in the incredible view of the South Downs. “When you consider residents have all this natural beauty on their doorstep and easy access to the nearby South Downs, it’s easy to see why the development has proved to be such a sought-after location.”
Jones Homes has built 73 homes at Folders Grove, on land off Folders Lane. There are currently three luxury four-bedroom houses available to reserve, priced at £920,000.
